Louisiana considers each case individually and can grant a license to a nonresidential contractor on a reciprocal basis, if he or she holds a license from a state which is a member of the National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies and reciprocates with Louisiana. Currently, contractors domiciled in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, North Carolina (Electrical), and Tennessee who are holding a license for three consecutive years in a comparable classification, with a clear record, may be eligible for an examination waiver.
